Gia is her dam’s favorite, and why not? Dam and daughter could be twins! Half American Alpine and half Nubian, Gia is graceful, and could grow to be a nice large doe. But based on her tantrum-like behavior in her first showing as a junior kid, she may not be destined for the show ring.
Update: Gia suffered a badly broken leg at six months old. The vet set the leg, but due to the location of the break, it did not heal straight. That hasn’t slowed Gia down one bit, however: she raised two large, healthy kids and was surrogate nurse maid to another kid whose mama had a difficult kidding and was unable to nurse for a few weeks. Gia is very intelligent, but gentle and very well behaved on the milk stand. She will make an excellent home milker and a very special best friend.
Continue breeding Gia, and Gia’s female offspring, to a Nubian buck, and you will have an American Nubian in a few generations.
